So i am that guy who has yet to see that little independent film called Revenge of the Sith, completing that Star Wars Six-ology. i have vowed to wait for the nan to see empire thru clones before seeing finally having closure. in related news, that burger king commercial where darth vader tells that contest winner "i am your uncle"...so stupid yet so funny.
speaking of so stupid...during my meditation last sunday (read: i lay in bed all day to the point where i swear i developed bedsores and became orthostatic) i saw shrek 2 on HBO. it was everything that i expected it would be...an utterless piece of unfunny crap. i managed to spit up a chuckle when that kitty made the kitty eyes and then attacked those guards. otherwise...crap, crap, crap, crap, crap...and then that little piece of crap that doesn't flush w/ the rest of his compadres and sticks around---him too.
so i had fun last week going to all those concerts...downside: opening bands...do the headliners purposefully pick the crappiest bands in the world to make them sound better?? the dresden dolls (not terrible), mercury rev (the lead singer...indescribably (is that a word?) loony---the band wants to be the flaming lips soooo bad), athlete--the worst of the bunch, and the kings of leon...an appropriately crappy name for a crappy band...all led in to some of the best performances i've seen since...the cure or radiohead?? ok, not that good, but good enough.
tomorrow is going to be a long day--a con't ed course about prosthetics...until 9pm

Heaven's gate on Earth, repent NOW!!
Lo and behold!! now looky here...so i'm just walking w/ the jubster to pick up some pastries and some groceries for dinner...and what do i come across?? they had knocked the walls from the blessed beer garden and put up this beautiful gate in it's place!! we must be there for the grand opening. Heaven, truly, is a place on Earth...you were right Belinda.
so i went to see NIN last nite at the Hammerstein. friggin' awesome. i even liked the opening band, the dresden dolls, though they actually sound better live than on the CD sampler i just acquired. so i got felt up, such is usual at concerts and also mr. david bowie himself was sitting behind us. i don't think he saw me, b/c he just got up and left after the show. annoying fact: NIN have the ugliest female fanbase. 1 out of every 200 females, would be categorized as somewhat attractive. 3 out of 10000 were characterized as hot. Henry was right...the cure have hotter fans. then again, robert smith is not gay buff like trent reznor. looks like trent traded in his heroin for a bowflex--the dude was friggin' huge...but like i said, not like some guy who goes to gym...this is a guy who goes to crunch, in chelsea and spends most of his time in the showers (nudge, nudge, wink, wink)
here's a sneak peek at the week:
wednesday: dinner for the nan
thursday: doves at webster hall (!)
friday: snow patrol at the roseland
saturday: U2 at the garden
feel free to envy me.

ok...so i feel like writing something...and it's only b/c i'm still drunk, and my stomach hurts...plus i'm watching van wilder. yes, steve...yes, pater...i bought it for like 8 bux on friday and am now enjoying it's family message...i'm never eating eclairs again. did i mention i'm quite drunk? write this down...never ride in ron's POS he calls a car again. i had the will to hold in the stomach chunks for the 1 hour ride home from jersey. BTW, i won the 1st poker game but then placed 3rd the next 2...but i'm not bitter. but i digress, so the rocky ride in that dumbass car...all i can say is, stay away from the tan garbage can for the next week or two...you know when you throw up so bad, that it comes out your nose too? man, i'm never drinking beer again...just gonna stick to the hard liquor. so this week coming up is concert week...we're talking NIN, doves, snow patrol and U2...in that order. i hope i have the stamina. my fingers are crossed to see if i can win free coldplay tix for tuesday and possibly those free starwars tix too...i don't plan on sleeping this week. nice.
ok, so hopefully i'll feel better in the morn and i can climb and christen the new sneakers with a nice run. gotta go...this dude is taking a muchos dumpos in a wastebasket.

OK, so after surviving that ordeal that was the NYC 5 boro bike tour, AKA "i can't believe that i spent over 3 hours waiting in line for a stupid friggin' ferry on staten island...I MEAN, STATEN ISLAND FOR CHRISSAKES!!! the place where rats go to die. it was a nice relaxing ride up 'til brooklyn bridge. but going to staten island...sounds sexy. plus, we didn't get to go to astoria, b/c we started later because of the rain. but i was very proud of the nanster, she did the whole thing, bridges and all. simone's took some nice pics and there's even video of me here. in conclusion: never go to staten island...'tis a silly place. and if you do the bike tour...STOP at brooklyn bridge...go over the nice bridge and hit seaport for some nice margherita's at radio mexico.
oh wait...family guy LIVE, on saturday. (geek warning) FREAKIN' SWEET! some trivia: 1. family guy, the only cancelled tv show to ever get re-picked up by the same network, 2. family guy, the only cancelled tv show to ever get re-picked up by the same network because of the fans, oh yeah...i think DVD helped a little bit...there were 4 million reasons as to why the show has returned. the main cast was all there, seth green, mila kunis, alex borstein to name a few...all making dirty jokes and cursing and everything!!! seth mcfarlane...the creator, does like 5 voices on the show, and it was surreal to watch him change character. a fun nite was had by all. there was a Q&A after they did a reading of "to live and die in dixie" and couple of songs from their new album and a sneak preview of the new episode (which i missed on sunday b/c of the aforementioned trip to hell that is staten island). Q&A: geekfest 2005...as appreciative as the cast all was that fan support got their jobs back...you could tell they were clenching their jaws at some the most stupid questions ever recorded since cro-magnon man pondered the question "can i drink my own pee?" (i'm paraphrasing, of course). overall, i laughed, i cried..."better than gremlins, better than ET" (just in case you don't know, that's from a commercial for CATS..."now and forever, at the winter garden theater"
i watch too much TV.
