i'm officially an anatomy w/ cadaver lab assistant, luckily only once a week. a friend of mine, who is like "king of the lab assistants" was looking for someone b/c the dreadful anatomy teacher from last semester "resigned", so they hired a new prof. last friday and they need a TA...so now i'm a lab asst. tonite was the first nite, and it wasn't too bad and now i know all the secrets of Mercy College (anatomy lab dept)!!! Money isn't too bad considering i'm just standing around pointing out stuff...and it will reinforce all the stuff i need to know for my hell semester...

Apt. is on the 3rd floor of a 3 family house and the room is a good size (about 12x12). The apt. is located about 8 min from the N/W Astoria Blvd. stop. It is also a stone's throw away from Astoria Park. If you have a car, there is ample parking (a rarity in this town!) and a pretty safe due to the large police presence around the Triboro Bridge. The roommates are students who also work full time jobs, so we're in/out a lot, pretty much keep to ourselves and get along well. Must also like dogs. Rent is $500/month, excluding cable, utilities and internet (WiFi)--(never more than $100 but may vary b/c of the utility bill). 1/2 rent ($250) and 1 month security due on Jan. 15th. i smell like dead people.

it would be cool if this is what our cadaver looked like, but alas, it is not one of the walking dead.

but it is smelly and full of juice. it was a leaky sucker. but we skinned the thorax and then our prof. cut the ribs open and exposed the thoracic cavity.

a fun time was had by all.

i, of course, had to scrub m'self down...i stood outside naked while i had my landlady hose me down and my roommates scrub me w/ a broom.

i smell nice now.

went to the nextfest on saturday too...pics to follow. it was cool.

Robert Downey Jr. That's right as per AintItCool, The IronMan movie, as to be directed by Jon Favreau (Swingers, Elf, Zathura, the Ultimate Fighting Billionaire who dated Monica on Friends) has chosen RDJ to be Tony Stark...I'm thinking...I'm OK w/ that...that's up there w/ Christian Bale being Batman. I now look forward to this...plus it's produced by Ralphie from A Christmas Story, so what can go wrong.



In other news, I got my first game console since i made the mistake of sending my PS2 to the philippines. yup, a gamecube...now, now...before the snickering starts...it was free, thanks to Citibank. Now i have a nice stress reliever apart from online poker. So, i'll be waiting for those generous few (simone007) who have these games that they would be more than happy to lend me. remember, i'm a student again and can't go out and buy some awesome games, so please, give generously and numerously.
