This does indeed work. Just got back from my ski-mountaineering trip in the white mountains. There was very little skiing and less mountaineering, but we did get to play with sharp objects like crampons and ice axes. If you ever fall in a crevasse, let me know. I once understood how in theory to pull you out... School starts tomorrow and I actually have work to do. My vacation is about to die a painful death as I check out corporate valuation!!!
