Check this out!!

This is the rockwall at the NYU Palladium!! I'm gonna have to check this out ASAP!!! I'm really starting to get the itch back...climbing into my house instead of using my stairs...the same at work.

Movie Review!

Wedding Crashers is probably the greatest movie ever put on celluloid...

that deals with the controversial topic of crashing weddings. Statistics have shown that at least 1 out every 6 weddings in the US have fallen prey to interlopers feeding on not only the crabcakes and the filet mignon...but also your vulnerable single female friends who according to this movie, become really horny at the sight of a vera wang and elaborate floral arrangements. Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson star as...ok, so does it really matter who they play in the movie...all you have to know is that when you have to of these people together...you are going to pee yourself and then softly stroke the necks of those around you. They crash weddings they say/do funny things, they fall in love, all live happily forever and you've feel like you've grown as a person for having seen this movie...that's all there is to say. spend the 10 bux it's not gonna kill you.

Let's move on.

79. There was a time where I moved like every year...i have no idea why...my place in Astoria is the first time since leaving home I've lived in one place for more than a year.

78. I have never broken a bone. but probably have sprained my ankles more than a billion times

77. I've never smoked a cigarette...but i do smoke cigars and only tried MJ once. and got caught.

76. The back of my head comes to 2 points, i have horns, making me believe what my mom has always told me...that i am the devil.

75. I almost flunked out of college my first semester. I had a little too good of a time away from from. And had a nice little breakdown as a result...I trashed my roommates room.

Happy Birthday Jia

Today we celebrated our friend Jia's b-day...well, S.Nan was there for most of it...they drank and then i had time for one drink...and then everybody went next door to Jackson Hole to eat burgers, while i had a salad. yes...a salad. good times were had by all...and now she gets to be off...and we get to leave early tomorrow!! woo hoo!! why? b/c it's Jia's b-day...JK...summer 1/2 day, woo hoo!!

i got there late b/c i had to pick up Murphy!! woo hoo!! she's freaked out a bit right now...she marked her territory in the same spot duncan marks his spot in the living room...see what that dog has started. i forgot how undisciplined she is in comparison to jubei...she goes everywhere, crossing the street w/o looking, talking to strangers...she's is truly spoiled. she'll have fun here for the week...there's plenty to do!! woo hoo!!

i actually ran 3 days in a row...that is like crazy...b/wn 9-10pm i would go to the park and run the track...the last 2 times w/ steve and karen...i actually felt pretty good...of course, i'm sore as hell right now...but i think i'm getting into the rhythm...now if i can just get back into rock climbing. next week, SN and i will take advantage of the free week and Synergy and then the week after, i'm gonna try and climb at NYU. should be fun.

Top 100 con't--84-80, man, this is exhausting...

84. When I was little, I used to hold "Thunderdome"---ya know...2 MEN ENTER!! 1 MAN LEAVE!! at the side of my house...we would make 2 kids fight each other until one was beaten into submission...the idea would later inspire Chuck Palanhuik to write a little known novel called Fight Club.

83. Speaking of yesteryear...a kid was beating up on me (this was a week ago) and Camille came in and beat the crap out of him...yup, a girl saved me from a brusin! thanks Mille!!!

82. I saw the Exorcist when i was kid...and it still terrifies me to this day.

81. I admit being wrong about the 13th Warrior...it really is a great frikkin' movie.

80. The cops were called on me once in my 'tweens...i shot up my neighbor's windows with my BB gun b/c the little shit was lighting my mom's flowers on fire. I do believe I took a beating for it.

Upsetting News (if your a Cure fan)

Coming from Chain of Flowers, a Cure fan site...Roger O' Donnell (keyboardist) and Perry Bamonte (guitarist) are no longer with the band. The reason or impetus for the departure wasn't revealed...but knowing the revolving door of musicians that have rotated in the band since their inception in the late 70's---it was b/c Robert fired them. apparently, he can be bitchy sometimes and since The Cure is his baby (OK, and Simon's too), he has final say. What's even suckier is that former Cure guitarist Porl Thompson is back with them playing shows in Europe this summer. are they touring in the US?? of course not, b/c we suck!!

So I terminated my student's affiliation on Monday. For those who don't know...i've had a student from Touro College the past 5 weeks, on his 2nd of 3 affiliations he would have. After being late on numerous occasions and having the gall to call out with a "headache" last friday---the day he was supposed to have a meeting with me and my supervisor regarding his lackluster performance...weird, huh? i mean who does he think he's kidding? i called him to tell him he needed a doctor's note, first his wife answered...and you hear grumbling in the background...then a cheery and upbeat "Hello?" from the guy...when told him it was me...it turned to the "Wait...i'm supposed to be sick...so sound sick, stupid!!", so he replied to a sickly "Hi, my headache is still there"...anyway, i told him that he needed a doctor's note and told him that he was in danger of failing...he didn't seem to really care. So come Monday...the guy knowing he's under the gun---decides he's going to come in late...20 min. late...well, kids, that was the last straw for me--got my supervisor and director and told him basically he's not performing to the expected level and acting most unprofessionally and sent him home. there are more reasons to why he failed, but i won't bore you w/ the details. it just bothers me that someone could be so unenthusiastic and unmotivated to do a job that i love...i mean i could not, in good conscience, pass him, with the chance that he would treat patients.

i'm feeling the need to climb...i'm quitting the Rock...looking for another place to go, while going to the better rock gyms in the city. SNan and I got a free week at synergy...which apparently gives a discount to NYU employees like ourselves for 50 bux a month. what a bargain...so i'll check it out next week.

i'm Casey Kasem, on with the COUNTDown

At 89. being picked last in every sport made me want to be good at every sport when i got older. sports yet to be good at: Jai Alai, Curling, Steeplechase and Naked Co-ed Jello Wrestling (i just joined a league, i'm sure i'll go pro soon)

88. I have read the Lord of the Rings every year (since 1995), i took a class on it and was hooked ever since. the movies made me shit m'self, metaphorically, or course. i even wrote a short story about the Heirs of Isildur after Aragorn...my professor kept it...probably to wipe her ass with, hippie bastard.

87. Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance changed my life forever. You just have to read it...and thank you Ed, for recommending it.

86. Coke over Pepsi (and what i mean is cocaine)

85. I had high hair when i was in high school (we're talking Kid of Kid N' Play / Morrissey high), What?!? I wanted to be Morrissey, sans the gay/celibate vegetarian thing.

Entries 94-90 of the Top 100 Things About SpookyB

94. I cannot stick my fingers in my eye nor can i apply eyedrops in said eye. This is the reason i will not get contacts...plus i look too weird. when other people do it, it makes me gag.

93. I have driven drunk on 2 occasions...this is hardly a boast, but the whole rationale of "i'm close to home, i can make" loomed largely, but i would never ever advocate it...but bright side---now when i tell people not to drink and drive...i have a cautionary tale--people love a good scary yarn w/ a moral to learn from.

92. After a bad alcohol experience when i was in 7th grade...I did not imbibe another drink of alcohol until i was 21. Right when your supposed to. (ok, maybe i've had a sip of beer here and there...but i'm talking about being the drunkard that you know and love today!!!)

91. I love pizza. No, i'm not a teenage mutant ninja turtle..but if i was, i'd be Donatello, b/c he is good with gadgets. and i love gadgets...plus he's good w/ a bowstaff...just like my man Napolean Dynamite!!! Sweet!!

90. There was a time where i would consume a box of McDonald's 20 piece chicken McNuggets 3-4 times a week. that SuperSizeMe guy's got nothing on me...i've been doing it for years!!! which is why my cholesterol is 228...and was as high as 320.

Entries 99-95 of the Top 100 Things About SpookyB

99. Despite the homoerotic undertones, I know Top Gun verbatim.

98. I began playing piano when I was 6, my parents were like Nazis about it, locking me in a room to practice...and so I ended up hating it and resenting my parents in the process. I was good, but only technically, I never had the heart for it, though i regret it now.

97. I have a temper like no other. I love Sexy Nancy for being able to extinguish it like no other.

96. I regret ever having a (past tense) girlfriend moving in with me. Yes, that one...the one nobody liked and never told me.

95. I can relate any real-life event to a Simpsons or Family Guy episode. And spend the next five minutes laughing about it.

***I know that i said that I would do one at a time...but that's friggin' long!! We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and your family***

So 2 parties were attended this weekend. first off, Henry of Hot Monkey fame had his (100 - 60)th birthday. It was atop the La Quinta Inn in beautiful mid/koreatown Manhattan. I believe it's the most people to ever attend the secret hotspot...and good time had by all. my apologies to Mattchew for chasing away his potential "lova". and i am happy to say that i am nan's best publicist as she is now know in certain circles as "Sexy Nancy". please update your records accordingly.

The second party was in the exotic land of Jersey City, home of the HOt Monkey, where SN and I visited our coworkers for a nice indian meal (think, more gandhi less geronimo). which was spectacular. they have a real nice place, which makes me miss my old jersey apt...but i digress. we had fun with some of our other coworkers and SN's friend who managed to invite herself late in the week. i think i would like to throw a dinner party or something of that sort...but maybe my apt's too small or something.

i rearranged my room again, SN said that she had thought to mention it to me but i read her mind and i think the new arrangement is a lot more fung shooey allowing some good chee to come in and give me some luck.

In other news...

Murphy the dog, or the pet formerly known as My first dog, will be coming to astoria, queens to visit for a week. The blessed event is the second for the canine, the first being in 2003, where she came for the day to browse the woodly surroundings and urinated accordingly. the reason for the visit is that her current owner, known amongst long island socialites as "Mom" is going to florida, hopefully to find a nice place to retire, for the week. there are rumours amidst that astorian canine sovereign Jubei and Murphy have had a tumultuous past, having lived under the same roof many years ago. but jubei has made a statement welcoming his former compatriot to his lovely kingdom and looks forward to "catching up" with her.
My 100 Things About Me

In the grand tradition of Simone's Top 100 and the ones that I'm too lazy to create links for, i present to you my list for the top 100 things about me. But b/c i always have to do things a little differently, i'll give you a countdown of sorts giving you one thing about me for the next 100 days. i know what you're thinking...there has to be more than 100 things about you that we must know...and i know it leaves you in too much suspense to the point of paralysis if you have to wait so long to learn about me...but all i can say is be strong, and we'll get though this together.

I'll throw you a bone...i'll give you 101 as a bonus and also give you 100 today ONLY!! that should hold you over until tomorrow.

101. Midgets make me happy.

100. I have Kelly Clarkson's latest album and the song "Breakaway" makes me emotional.

phew, that was hard. wipe that drool, more too come tomorrow.
