X-Men: The Last Stand...Sucks.

you knew it would, i knew it would. overall, they tried to fit in too much and what you get is an incoherent mess. sure, if you didn't grow up reading the comics, then you might actually enjoy it.

for the rest of us...this is the Batman & Robin of the X-Men series...OK, so not that bad, how 'bout Batman Forever???
They really wanted to make this the last XMEN movie, b/c Ratner just decided "hey, let's destroy as many characters as we can while trying to fit in popular story archs from the comics and see what happens"...it's like lending your ant farm to your sadistic little neighbor...you watch him shake it and then blow up w/ M-80's.

i won't give you any spoilers, though i would be doing you a favor. overall, the only people who get anything to do are the two that got paid the most to be there...Halle and Hugh. This might as well have been the Wolvie and Storm show with their theme song ending with
"...and the rest!"

all the talk of Wolverine finally berserking...underwhelming...he looked more perturbed then berserked.

everyone else were underutilized, underdeveloped, or six feet under.

OH, and the surprise at the end of the credits...not so surprising.

a craptacular time was had by all. though i think the Sexy One found it entertaining...but she was a big fan of the cartoons, which i hated---except for the time the XMen were on Spiderman and His Amazing Friends...and that one-shot, Pryde of the X-Men.

and don't get me started on the whole "Dark Phoenix" fiasco.

GOT TIME TO KILL?

If you have a few hours, you can look for Jubei's entry into the Old Navy's Mascot Search. He is sporting his summer cut, which may work against him. But wish him luck!!

UPDATE!!

This summer is gonna blow, or How God is punishing me for thinking that Jesus got his swerve on, or Why did I get sick again?

So instead of poker, i lay'd in bed b/c the sexy one got me sick. ya see, on friday, she left work sick and stayed over at my place. i came home, nuzzled w/ the afflicted woman took in that blasphemous film "the da vinci code" (more on that coming, wait!! jeez...) and then spent the weekend in bed, sick. we've all heard in the news how this is the worst allergy season ever (until next year, of course) and get ready to really frikkin' hate being outside.

and it was 48 degrees this morning...this is going to be the worst summer ever. i'm just waiting for the deluge of frogs and seas of blood, etc.

and why?

b/c God hates those who contributed to the $77 million domestic box office ($400 gazillion worldwide) of that movie based on that book, which i will affectionately name "The Da Vinci Code: for dummies...wait, or Cliff Notes: The Da Vinci Code. ron howard finds everyway possible to leave nothing to the imagination and spells out everything for you. thank you for assuming that the masses are idiots.

Not that the book was any masterpiece, but if the book confused you, look at this film as a quick (an almost 3 hour affair!) walk through at how much Dan Brown wants us to hate the Christians...i know that there are probably only like 6 people who haven't read the book...all of which showed up friday for the 6pm showing. ya gotta laugh at the parts where they're all shocked, you just want to get and slap them in the face and be like "COME ON!!"...BUT, i digress.

the movie's pace is just like the book and for those of you who said it was slow...need to read the book again. the problem is...i read Angels & Demons...a much better reading than Code in terms of pacing and mystery and intrigue. and tom just doesn't do it for me in the Langdon role, i'm sorry...chocolate eating retard, yes. awkward, reluctant hero/symbiologist, no.

go see it, just to say you did. pretend to be surprised: here's the spoiler...Jesus did it.

or didn't.

the rest of the weekend i enjoyed free movie channels...all of a sudden we got all of them and i saw Dawn of the Dead like 8 times, Batman Begins 2, and the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy 2. but it's gone now, and i feel like my mommy just abandoned me saying she was stepping out to get some milk.

in other news, after 6 weeks of waiting, we finally got our bathroom redone. i don't know if i mentioned this, but after cleaning the tub some months ago, the tiling around the tub fell like a jenga game played by oxen. unfortunately, the magical world of Narnia was not on the otherside and we had to stare at grout and tile cement for sometime. but this past week...we got the next best thing to a new bathroom. DRUM ROLL...

fake marble made of laminate fiberglass to cover the tiles and tub and new ceramic tile!!! take a look at the before and after below:

nice huh?

oh, and there's something wrong w/ my comments...so when i'm not feeling lazy and not sick...i'll fix them.
