Dear Karen:

Ha Ha.

Very Funny.

Sincerely,

Bloggy McB

so i haven't written in a while...big deal, let's call it mercury retrograde fallout. BMB has been kinda cranky as of late, with many apologies to those who have had to feel the tsunaminess of Cranky McCrankster. ok, let's see...we'll start from the present and see if we can work our way back. Just saw the Hitchhiker's Guide, or H2G2. it was quite enjoyable, it certainly has the spirit of the book and covers all the major fun pars that those of us who have read it 10-20 times lovingly recall. the ever-present hollywoodized romantic subplot didn't bother as much as some fanboy reviews have griped. but the vogons were really cool, jim henson's creature shop went all out. and of course, marvin, the paranoid android (played by the legendary warwick davis and appropriately voiced by alan rickman) provided a lot of the laughs. martin freeman who plays tim from the office was really good as arthur--10 years ago, when this movie was still in one of it's many infant stages, i would have told you a heavily desheveled hugh grant or a richard e grant would have worked,...but martin played him perfectly. makes me wish monty python were still together or at least have a reasonable facsimile to watch. nan now regrets not coming b/c she caught a sneak peek on tv...we'll go next week.

family guy live tomorrow...i'm am too psyched. i'm trying to figure out what episode they're gonna reenact and i definitely can't wait to see the new episode too. i'm sure watching seth mcfarlane voice peter, brian and stewie at once will totally freak me out. poor nan has no choice but to drowned in it's brilliance!!!! and yes, soon we will take on "the empire strikes back"...only a couple o' weeks left and we still have jedi, phantom and clones to get through. methinks she'll like empire, it's kinda a downer...i remember when i was but a wee bonny lad, and freaked out when (spoiler warning---if you're nan or from a place that never had tv (the box with moving pictures that talks)) han gets encased in carbonite...i remember taking my hoth han solo figure and freezing him in a dixie cup...when i tried to thaw him out, his arm fell off...i was devastated.

got the bike nyc tour on sunday...looks to be a nice warm day. let you know how that turns out.

otherwise, can't recall anything that's been happening. oh, meeting w/ the admissions counselor at mercy college on monday...looks like i'm gonna follow through w/ going back to school...it's not until fall 2006, but there's no hurt in starting a little early.

need to buy new running shoes...think i'm developing a heel spur on my right leg. climbing has been noneventful, need to mix it up. gotta head for city climbers or something, love the bouldering there. need to start up tennis again, bought all those damn tennis balls, might as well use them. wouldn't mind getting into ball again either...volley or b doesn't really matter to me.

alright, more to come (maybe...hee, hee)

happy birthday paul, if i forget to call you tomorrow...you're old anyway and wouldn't remember even if i did. hee hee.
